The best small town in the country is gearing up for the Dullstroom Winter Festival
The quaint village of Dullstroom plays host to the annual Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky Dullstroom Winter Festival in association with the Dullstroom Chamber of Business and Hilltop Live over the weekend of 5 to 7 July 2013.
Historically themed as Christmas in July, this event in the traditional fly-fishing village on the route between Gauteng and the Kruger National Park and visited by many family holiday-makers during the winter school holidays, is activity rich in the heart of the cold winter. There will be a range of activities including 3 family sporting events – the Mavungana DWF Fly Fishing Event aimed at both novices and experts, A stunning MTB race held at the new Dunkeld Equestrian Estate & Spa and a Festival Trail Run. All have limited entries so don’t delay. There will also be many activities from Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky Tastings, chocolate, cheese, beer and wine tastings, art exhibitions and Christmas themed restaurant evenings to name a few. The kids will be catered to at all events and a weekend long Kids Zone at the Meander Centre in town. These events will be supported by excellent live music shows showcasing live Roots, Blues and Folk music performances from top South African singers and song writers at various participating venues around town.
The hop on/hop off Buddy Bus will be running all weekend long to take festival goers from one side of town to the other, with stops in between. So don’t worry about parking, be festive and enjoy! The Bus will even take festival goers to their front door after the late night concerts. Only R10 a pop from 9am 6pm. R20 a pop 6pm to 2am (within a 2km radius).
